Tours & Tastings

Tasting wine is undoubtedly one of the big draws of Napa Valley, and we have several tasting rooms where you can sample our unparalleled selection of wines and learn more about winemaking in the process. Our tasting room staff knows everything about the wines and can help you choose those that will best suit your wine preferences.

In the Wine Tasting Room we offer flights of any three wines from a seasonal menu for $10.00. Here you can taste a wide range of red and white wines from Napa Valley and beyond, whether you prefer the ever-popular White Zinfandel or a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. The tasting menu might also include some of our wines that are sold exclusively at the winery. Winery tours, many of which start up at the Old Winery, also include a tasting of three wines.

Visitors are also invited to taste and purchase reserve and library wines. Here you can taste four of some of our most sought-after wines for only $25. Also sometimes available to taste is our rich, botrytised wine, named after our former winemaker, together with other limited release and hard to find wines.

Introducing our Historic Tour

Days/Times: 10:45 a.m. , 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily. Approximately 30 minutes in length.
Highlights: This historic tour ushers guests through our original winery and aging tunnels, highlighting Submerce's129-year history and commitment to quality. Tour includes a voucher for tasting of 3 wines at our Wine Tasting Bar.
Reservations: Advance reservations not available.
Price: $15 per adult (Under 21 free when accompanied by an adult.)

The following programs and tours, due to their length and educational nature, are limited to guests 21 years of age or older:

Wine & Cheese Pairing Seminar

Days/Times: 2 p.m. Approximately one hour in length.
Highlights: This presentation highlights how the cheese's dominant tastes react with wine's dominant tastes. Tasting of 4 different artisanal cheeses is paired with 4 different wines. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
Reservations: Reservations are required. 48-hour reservation/cancellation policy. 10 person maximum.
Price:$30 per person.

Wine & Food in Balance

Days/Times: 2 p.m. Approximately one hour in length.
Highlights: The rules have changed! The primary tastes in foods (salty, sour, sweet, savory and spicy) change the way wine tastes. This presentation highlights how the food's dominant tastes react with wine's dominant tastes. Understanding these basic principles will make your wine and food experience more enjoyable. Tasting includes four different wines paired with samples of the dominant tastes in food. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
Reservations: Reservations are required. 48-hour reservation/cancellation policy. 10 person maximum.
Price: $30 per person.
